Job Description
This position will analyze business requirements to identify and document all data needs, definitions around all data elements and all business rules associate with any data element.
This position will help to identify data redundancies, where appropriate provide options to reduce data redundancy.
This position will be responsible for the creation of a data dictionary for each project he/she assigned to.
This position will be responsible for developing data flow diagrams and logical data models.
This position will assist with the identification of information flow, content issues and the transformation of business requirements into logical data and system models.
This position is eligible for limited telework and/or a flexible work schedule.
This position is not eligible for over-time and will be capped at 40 hours a week.
Data Modeling and Database Design (strong knowledge of relational database concepts)
SQL (PL/SQL is a plus)
Data Integration Practices
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and logical thinking
Ability to understand the business data needs and translate into data models (DFDs, DSDs and/or ERDs)
Ability to create ETL specifications and develop data mappings
Ability to engage in detailed analysis of data discrepancies to determine the source and resolution of errors
Clear and concise documentation skills
High level knowledge of programming practices
Aptitude for learning new technologies/applications/businesses
Excellent presentation, communication and customer service skills while maintaining a professional manner
Self-motivated team player able to work cooperatively in a team environment
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines when required
Remain flexible on changing workloads and priorities
Ability to communicate with diversified stakeholders
Data Warehousing is a plus
Business Intelligence is a plus
ITIL certification is a plus
Industry specific knowledge regarding asset inventory systems is a plus
Industry specific knowledge regarding service portfolio management systems is a plus
